Obituary: MP Ivan Zabunov (28 June 1948-7 February 2020)

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - We have received with deep sorrow the news on the passing away of our fellow, Ivan Zabunov.

In his capacity of MP, as well as head of the Revival Bulgarian association from Moldova, Ivan Zabunov asserted himself as a promoter of human rights and inter-ethnic peace. Born on 28 June 1948 in Tvardita, Zabunov loved Moldova and Bulgaria to the same extent. He was PhD in history, lecturer, member of the Academy of Sciences from Bulgaria.

A true patriot and a man of rare kindness, Ivan Zabunov will always remain well-disposed and well-intended in our hearts. He was able to defend the Bulgarian culture and traditions, with much respect for the country where he was born and lived.

In this moment of deep sorrow for us everybody we convey sincere condolences to the grieving family and all those who valued him.

We join the mourning of the family, friends, disciples and colleagues.
