Art photographer from Moldova gets two medals at international salon

Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/ - Master photographer Anatol Poiata, laureate of more international salons and contests, the head of the Union of Art Photographers from Moldova (UAFM), has been awarded one golden and one bronze medals at the Unlimited International Salon of Art Photograph, recently held in the Podgorica city, Montenegro, under the aegis of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).
Attending the event were more than 500 arts photographers from Argentina, China, France, India, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Russia and other countries.
Anatol Poiata got the golden medal for the photograph “În drum spre piață, (On way to market), which shows an old woman with a goose in her hands and a bronze medal for the photo Liniile vieții (The life lines), which symbolizes the stages of the life through trees.
”It is a great honour for me to have gotten these medals. This encourages me to work in continuation,” the laureate said.
He also was awarded five mentions at a contest at five various categories, held in Switzerland on the last days.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, journalist Valerie Volontir said that Anatol Poiata was a gifted photographer of Moldova, who appeared on the arena of the international art photography 20 years ago. “He is a modest man, who knows his profession pretty well. Poiata implemented various projects in his capacity of head of the Union of Art Photographers from Moldova, which has not been done till his election to this position. He helped many young people. He regularly organizes national and international exhibitions,” Valerie Volontir noted.
Anatol Poiata was born in Chisinau on 1 December 1968. In 1990, he graduated from the Mathematics Faculty of the Moldovan State University. Poiata was scientific employee at the Mathematics Institute of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences and then he worked in the tourism industry sector. Presently, he carries out his activity in the IT sector. Anatol Poiata had personal exhibitions in Moldova, Azerbaijan, Japan, Romania and other countries. He got over 40 prizes at different international contests. Starting from 2012, he has acted as head of the Union of Art Photographers of Moldova.
