Moldovan PM meets Canadian, Israeli investors

Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/- Today, Prime Minister Ion Chicu had a meeting with a group of investors. The delegation was made up of representatives of Black Moose Resources Ltd from Canada and of A-Geffen group from Israel, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Chicu approached the economic situation in Moldova, noting that 2019 was concluded with a budget deficit of 1.4 p.p., the public debt to the GDP was reduced by 1.9 p.p., currently is 25.2 p.p. The indicators demonstrate the maturity of the national economy and the ability to maintain stability under conditions of political turmoil.
The premier informed the investors about the actions taken by the government to improve business climate. “Moldova is willing to get investors and we will provide all conditions for your business to prosper,” he said.
Businessmen informed the prime minister about the areas of interest, including the energy sector, mainly renewable ones, organic agriculture, livestock and airport infrastructure.
Chicu spoke about the government’s intentions to conduct a feasibility study to clarify the opportunities for development of airport infrastructure in Moldova.
