Moldovan government to provide more excellence scholarships for students training for doctor's degree

Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/ - More students training for doctor’s degree in 2020 will receive government’s excellence scholarships, as well as nominal scholarships on fields. The cabinet members approved a decision to this effect at a meeting today.     

Under the cabinet decision, 11 students training for doctor’s degree, who study at various specialties in Moldovan universities, will benefit from scholarships this year.  

Also, six students training for doctor’s degree will receive nominal scholarships.  

The aforementioned scholarships will be paid from means provided for in the budget of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry on this purpose.  

In the context, Prime Minister Ion Chicu stressed the need to support the students and the people training for doctor’s degree, who study in the engineering sectors, especially dealing with the information technologies. “The future belongs to these professions; therefore, we must interest young people from Moldova to apply at these specialties,” the PM said.    

The government’s excellence scholarships and the nominal ones on fields are provided to people training for doctor’s degree who make progress and record special performances in education.
