Disadvantaged families to benefit from digital terrestrial television for free in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/ - A decision on the implementation of actions for the completion of the process of transition to the digital terrestrial television was approved at the cabinet meeting today. Under the document, the disadvantaged families will benefit from free of charge converters.   

The government members adopted the way of supplying the families benefiting from social assistance and other disadvantaged categories of residents with converters for the digital terrestrial television in 2020. Thus, the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, jointly with the territorial social assistance structures and in cooperation with the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, will ensure the free of charge supply with converters for the digital terrestrial television of the families benefiting from social assistance, according to conditions provided for by the cabinet.   

The ministries and other authorities of the central public administration, in charge of the carrying out of programme on the transition from the analog terrestrial television to the digital terrestrial one will undertake needed measures for finishing the process of transition to the digital terrestrial television till 1 March 2020.
