Moldovan cabinet holds meeting

Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a cabinet meeting. The agenda included 14 drafts, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the beginning of the meeting, the secretary general of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), Eugen Revenco, unveiled a list of decisions on staff.
Education, Culture and Research Minister Corneliu Popovici presented a draft government decision, under which six nominal scholarships and 11 excellence scholarships are provided to students training for doctor’s degree.
Deputy Prime Minister Serghei Puscuta unveiled a draft cabinet decision on the payment of Moldova’s membership dues and debts to international and regional organizations. The sum approved for payment is 65.6 million lei.
Ion Chicu asked the ministers to assess the arguments of Moldova’s membership in each regional and international organization and to ensure the efficient administration of the membership.
Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Ion Perju presented a draft government decision on the prevention of introduction of the bird flu virus in Moldova from Ukraine, where a spreading of this virus is recorded. The decision adopted comes with a string of measures meant to protect the consumers and the native poultry sector.
