Diaspora Relations Office announces registration for DOR Program

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/- The Diaspora Relations Office declares open the registration period for the eighth edition of the * Diaspora * Origins * Returns 2020 - DOR Program, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The DOR program will be carried out on 10-20 August 2020, meant to strengthen the emotional, cultural and identity relations of children and young people from the diaspora with the country of origin.

To participate in the DOR program, candidates must meet the following requirements: age 12-17; communication skills in Romanian; creativity, artistism and openness to new knowledge. The seats will be filled on registration, according to the principle "first come, first served". Priority will be given to candidates participating for the first time in the program, and from the results of the creativity contest.

The children and young people from the diaspora will be selected following a competition in which they will argue the reason that determined them to apply to the DOR 2020 Program. The competitors will present their works through video recordings of maximum 2 minutes.

Applicants from Moldova will be selected following a contest in which they will express the concept of DOR in relation to migration - leaving the country, returning, maintaining spiritual and emotional ties with the homeland (with friends and loved ones, village or town of origin), family and perennial values.

Participation in the DOR program is free, all expenses are covered by the state budget, participants will cover only the travel expenses to and from Moldova.

The DOR enrollment will be done on 10 February - 10 April 2020. Children and young people from diaspora, as well as those from the Republic of Moldova eligible to participate can register online on the program website: www.dor.md (http://dor.md/node/6 ).

Applications will be assessed by a joint committee. Results will be announced on 1 May 2020.
