Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/- The government decision on approval of the requirements on sustainable use of plant protection products will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 14 February. The document transposes the provisions of the acts of the European structures establishing a community action framework for the sustainable use of pesticides.
According to the decision, the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the National Agency for Food Safety and research institutions in the field, will work out the National Action Plan on reducing the risks associated with the use of plant protection products for a term of 5 years.
The plan includes quantitative goals, measures and deadlines to reduce the risks and effects of using plant protection products on human health and the environment, measures to promote the implementation and development of pest management, as well as alternative approaches or techniques to reduce dependence on use of plant protection products.
The goals of the National Action Plan are set according to the areas of interest, namely: protection of workers, environment protection, residues of plant protection products, use of specific techniques and specific crops.
