More than 60,000 people visit Made in Moldova 2020 exhibition

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Made in Moldova 2020 exhibition titled, At Home! Authentic! Native!, brought together 460 entrepreneurs from various branches of the national economy and 61,500 people visited the exhibition, according to a summing up carried out by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova (CCI).
CCI President Sergiu Harea has said that, among visitors, there were citizens of Romania, Belgium, Hungary, Italy, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, Israel, Georgia, etc. “They were interested in all products exhibited. At the same time, the exhibition was visited by a considerable number of students and pupils. They showed interest not only in native products, but also in the business programme, participating in seminars, conferences and roundtables. Many of them got involved as volunteers,” Sergiu Harea noted.
According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during the exhibition, over 100 reports and cooperation contracts, as well as agreements of intent were initiated. Most contracts signed between native economic agents and those from abroad deal with the fields of packing, canning fruits and vegetables, textiles industry, providing services, etc.
„CCI also made a questionnaire among the participants on the goal of their presence at the event. Thus, 27 per cent of them wanted to promote their product/service/trademark of the company; 15 per cent wanted to know the consumers and their behavior; 14 per cent came to attract new consumers; 13 per cent – for new cooperation and partnerships (especially with foreign entrepreneurs) and 31 per cent had the goal to sell,” the CCI president said.
The 19th issue of the Made in Moldova 2020 national exhibition was held at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre on 29 January – 2 February. This year edition was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the patronage of the government, in partnership with the Investments Agency and the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development. For the first time ever, the entire cabinet of ministers attended the opening of the exhibition. According to PM Ion Chicu, this was a sign of respect for all those who chose to work and produce at home.
