Parliamentary committee on economy, budget, finance selects candidate for ANRE director position

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/- Violina Șpac is the candidate selected by the parliamentary committee on economy, budget and finance for the position of director of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).Her candidacy will be submitted to parliament for approval.
According to the parliament’s press service, on 12 February the committee on economy, budget and finance organized repeatedly the interview for candidates for the position of ANRE director. Candidates Violina Șpac and Lilian Barcaru, employees of ANRE, were admitted there.
Previously, on 11 December 2019, they were admitted to the public contest for the position, and a third candidate withdrew candidacy for personal reasons.
According to the Law on energy, the director of the Board of Directors is appointed by Parliament on the basis of a competition. The contest is public, being organized by the parliamentary committee.
ANRE is managed by a Board of Directors made up of 5 directors. The Board members are appointed by parliament’s decision for a six-year term.
