President of Azerbaijan to visit Moldova

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon on 14 February had a working meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Munich, Germany.
According to the presidential press service, the officials discussed a wide range of issues on the cooperation in more sectors, including the ones of trade, economy, energy, transports and investments.
At the same time, the sides ascertained that the current commercial and economic potential between the two countries was not fully carried out. In this context, the sides stressed the need to organize a new meeting of the Moldovan-Azeri intergovernmental commission, which has not convened since 2012.
Igor Dodon emphasized Moldova’s special interest in the attraction of Azeri investors in infrastructure projects in the country. The head of state thanked the president of Azerbaijan for the valuable support provided to implement more social and humanitarian projects, including in the Gagauz Autonomy.
At the same time, the Moldovan president reiterated that a culture and education centre, built with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Fund, would be opened in the Ceadar-Lunga town in 2020, based on an agreement reached between Igor Dodon and Ilham Aliyev, during his visit to Baku in June 2017.
At the end of the meeting, the sides discussed the period when an official visit to Moldova by the president of Azerbaijan will take place.
