Moldovan government not to extend moratorium on law on citizenship through investments

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/- The government can no longer extend the moratorium on the law on citizenship through investments, and what will happen after 20 February when the moratorium expires parliament will decide. Prime Minister Ion Chicu made the statement at the end of the working meeting with President Igor Dodon and Speaker Zinaida Grecianii.
The official noted that in case of cancellation of the law, Moldova should be required by the court to pay damages. "I cannot say the exact amount, because they will be set in a possible trial," Chicu said.
He said that since the adoption of the law on citizenship through investments, five people have benefited from it, and 500 thousand euros are currently on the special account created under the program.
Also, the premier announced that after 100 days in office of the government, the performance of each minister will be evaluated, and if necessary – reshuffles could be operated.
