Applicants to start business in agriculture can ask for subsidies in advance

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment launched today call for submission of applications for advance subsidy to improve the standard of living and work in the rural area. They can be submitted until 20 May at the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA).
The applications will be received by AIPA, according to the Regulation on subsidies for improving the standard of living and work in rural area from the national fund for the development of agriculture and rural environment (FNDAMR).
Under the Regulation, eligible for advance subsidies are: the administrative-territorial units of level I (villages and cities with a population of up to 10,000 inhabitants with resident status) and private people and legal entities registered in rural areas developing non-agricultural activities.
Support measures provide for the improvement and development of rural public economic infrastructure (1); renovation and development of the rural locality (2); diversification of the rural economy through non-agricultural activities (3).
The applications will be submitted by mayor - for measures No1 and 2, and by administrator / legal representative - for measure No3, under the Regulation, at AIPA territorial service in the area of legal address of the applicant.
For each measure, the annual financial allocation of FNDAMR will amount to up to 5%, representing about 50 million lei, according to the sources allocated to the Fund in the state budget law for 2020.
