First Home program to become more accessible

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/- The eligible age for those who wish to benefit from the First Home program will increase from 45 to 50 years, and the initial contribution will be only 5% of the cost of the loan. Prime Minister Ion Chicu made the statement to this end.
According to the official, law 293 will be amended shortly, which will allow increasing the eligibility age of participants up to 50 years. Also, the initial contribution will be reduced to 5%.
The provision prohibiting the participation in the program of people who already have property will be removed from contract clauses on loan under First Home program.
Currently, citizens aged between 18 and 45 can become beneficiaries of the program. Applicants must be officially employed at state institutions or private companies and have incomes from official sources. Since the launch of the program in March 2018, 4,019 homes have been purchased so far.
