PM has meeting with UN Development Programme's Resident Representative in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with United Nations Resident Coordinator, United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Resident Representative in Moldova Dima Al Khatib. Ion Chicu welcomed the official’s visit and showed willingness to boost the Moldova-UN cooperation on all dimensions, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The UNDP resident representative informed the PM about the mission of the 2019 Human Development Report, made by the UN, which will be presented on 20 February 2020. Dima Al Khatib invited the prime minister to participate in the launch of the event.  

The subjects tackled will emphasize the inequalities in the human development in the 21st century, in the health, education fields, access to technologies, climate changes, etc. The report will present long-term visions by 2030 and will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Based on experts’ recommendations, a national roadmap will be worked out, in order to overcome the risks signaled.
