Moldovan electoral body unveils activity report for 2019, sets actions for 2020

Chisinau, 18 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), at a today’s meeting, presented the report on the carrying out of the activities provided for in the strategic plan for 2016-2019 and for the 2019 year.

The actions stipulated in the plan referred on the development of the information systems managed by CEC, elaboration and adjusting of the domestic normative framework concerning the electoral procedures, carrying out of information campaigns and implementation of efficient mechanisms of inclusion of persons with disabilities in the electoral process.

At the same meeting, CEC approved the institution’s action plan for 2020. It is aimed at developing accessible, secured and innovative services, enhancing the integrity and reliability of the electoral process through prevention, monitoring and control, decreasing the distanced between the voter and the electoral bodies through enhancing the transparency of the electoral information.

Also, 17 mandates of local councilor were provided and the procedure of validation of a Moldovan MP mandate was initiated at the meeting.
