Meeting of working groups on economy held in Chisinau

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/- A meeting of the working groups on economy was held at the OSCE Mission to Chisinau on Tuesday, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

The delegation from Chisinau was headed by Secretary of State to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Iuliana Drăgălin.

The talks were focused on possible steps due to be taken to remove technical barriers to trade and protect consumers’ rights.

The experts on both banks of the Dniester have reviewed the progress in implementing the protocol Decision On the interaction in the veterinary, quarantine and plant protection field of February 15, 2018.

The delegation from Chisinau approached the difficulties faced by some economic agents on the right bank of the Dniester River in conducting commercial transactions in the Transnistrian region and urged to eliminate the discriminatory measures and artificial barriers hampering the work.

Also, debates were held on the issues related to the authorization of certain types of activity carried out by entrepreneurs based in the Transnistrian region, including the procedures that must be followed when conducting internal and external commercial operations.

The next meeting of the experts in the economic sector will be held in Tiraspol.
