Risk of infection with coronavirus low for Moldova

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - The risk of infection with coronavirus is low for Moldova.

At a news conference today, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Moldova Zhang Yinghong said that “for the Moldovan citizens, the risk of infection with coronavirus is low.” He specified that the number of cases of infection with coronavirus outside China was low. “Outside China, 683 cases of infection were registered, which accounts for less than 1 per cent of all cases confirmed. The good news is that there are 14,376 patients treated and discharged, which means that the epidemic is controllable, preventable and treatable,” Zhang Yinghong noted.

The ambassador specified that those 300 Moldovan citizens who work in China benefited from every support of the Chinese state, in order not to be infected. China provided support to all foreign citizens on the territory of the country, to have access to measures of preventing the virus.

The diplomat also said that the Embassy of China had maintained a close communication with the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, the National Public Health Agency and other state institutions of Moldova, in order to share the epidemiological experience and strengthen the preventive measures.
