Moldovan PM chairs cabinet meeting

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a cabinet meeting. Eighteen subjects were included on the agenda, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

In the beginning of the meeting, the PM referred to Moldova’s conviction by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in the file of the Gemenii (The Twins) trade centre and the obligation to pay damages worth about 70 million lei. Ion Chicu asked the Finance Ministry to elaborate amendments to the budget law, in order to identify the sum of compensation of damages from financial means meant for the judicial system. 

„We will not take money from the budgets provided for the children’s nourishment or from accounts earmarked for the construction of aqueducts in Falesti or Hancesti,” Chicu said.  

Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi received the task to work out and place on the ministry’s webpage the list of cases in which Moldova was convicted at ECHR and the details on the judges who led to these decisions.

Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu presented a draft government decision on the providing of allowances to young specialists with medical and pharmaceutical education, distributed to work in rural settlements. The specialists with medical education will receive allowances worth 120,000 each and those with pharmaceutical education – 96,000 lei each.

Minister Nagacevschi promoted a draft law which sets the way of public informing about the lawmakers’ work. The law sees the placement on the parliament’s webpage of information on the activity of the MPs, as well as the number of drafts elaborated and promoted, taking of floors, etc.
