Eighteen people have registered for the contest: Osmochescu Nicolae, Margineanu Iurie, Baesu Valeriu, Baiesu Sergiu, Ciugureanu-Mihailuta Carolina, Popa Victor, Coptilet Valentina, Manea Vladislav, Rosca Valentin, Toncu Sanda, Spinu Ludmila, Belei Elena, Frunza Iurie, Sosna Alexandru, Cretu Ion, Fortuna Ghenadie, Vizdoga Tatiana and Buzinschi Ion.
Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi has earlier said that the election of members non-judges of the Superior Council of Magistracy must be withdrawn from the parliament’s guardianship. “Regardless of whether we want it or not, the parliament’s vote is political one,” the official said.
Under the legislation, the parliament will elect five CSM members non-judges out of those 18 candidates who submitted their files.
