Moldovan state, municipal enterprises to be subjected to compulsory external audit

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - The state and municipal enterprises of public interest will be compulsorily subjected to external audit, according to amendments to the law on the state enterprise and municipal enterprise, approved by the parliament in final reading at a plenary meeting today.
Under the draft, the annual financial situations of the state enterprises will be subjected to compulsory external audit. At the same time, the annual situations of the municipal enterprises will be subjected to obligatory external audit, if they are part of the category of medium entities, big entities and public interest entities, in accordance with the accounting legislation.
Also, the draft proposes amendment of one of the conditions which define the transaction with conflict of interests. Thus, the value of the transaction with conflict of interests was diminished from 400,000 lei to 10,000 lei.
The state and municipal enterprises will be obliged to place the internal regulations, the annual report of the enterprise and the audit reports on the official webpage of the enterprise and the official webpage of the enterprise’s founder.
The enterprise’s annual report will be placed on the webpage in a four-month term from the end of each management year and will compulsorily contain information on the enterprise’s staff number, newly created jobs and monthly average salary on enterprise. The salaries of the people holding leadership positions (founders, members of the administrative boards, managers, members of the commission of censors) will be showed separately.
The state/municipal enterprise will meet the public interest by honouring the requests on behalf of mass media institutions and the civil society, in strict accordance with the legislation on access to information.
