Moldova, France to strengthen bilateral relations on commercial, economic dimension

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon on 20 February had a working meeting with Ambassador of France to Moldova Pascal Le Deunff, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials discussed a wide spectrum of issues on the development of the Moldovan-French relations in diverse sectors of mutual interest. In particular, the sides were unanimous in the opinion on the need to strengthen the bilateral relations on the commercial and economic dimension.
Igor Dodon and Pascal Le Deunff paid special attention to the evolution of the domestic situation in Moldova. In the context, Dodon highlighted the Moldovan top leadership’s willingness to establish an open and direct dialogue with France and the European Union, on the whole.
The president highly appreciated the Moldova-France contacts at the level of the heads of state. Igor Dodon referred, in particular, to the discussions he had had with President of France Emmanuel Macron at more international events.
In the context, the head of state proposed to the French ambassador to organize frequent working meetings, in order to make a permanent exchange of opinions. At the same time, Igor Dodon reiterated Moldova’s commitment to further promote a balanced foreign policy between West and East.
