Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - Young people from various regions of Moldova, who are set to or already develop agricultural entrepreneurial activities, will be trained to initiate and efficiently administrate business. The trainings will be made for 240 young people aged between 18 and 35 years, who live or work in rural settlements.
The trainings programme, as well as other activities meant for young people, will be carried out in the next nine months within the project titled, Innovative educational activities and ways for young people from regions. The project is implemented by the public association, Association for Promotion of Entrepreneurship (APA), with the support of the High Value Agriculture Activity in Moldova (HVAA) Project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The training activities will tackle subjects on the registration of an enterprise, efficient use of financial, material and technical resources, enforcement of innovative ways of investments in business, stimulating the creation and development of complex enterprises, use of advanced technologies for the production of goods and services.
Subsequently, APA will select 40 young people determined to develop their entrepreneurial skills, in order to benefit from mentoring on behalf of successful businesspeople in the agricultural fields and of agricultural professional training. When selecting mentors, decision-makers will take into account the experience of entrepreneurs in the creation and/or administration of business, the image of the entrepreneur regionally and nationally, knowledge of the sector and the continuous professional and personal development. Thus, decision-makers will provide the transmission of the professional experience and aptitudes from success entrepreneurs to beginners.
„The activities organized with the USAID/HVAA will contribute to the identification of young people with initiative, who will be encouraged and helped to start new businesses or develop current ones. Presently, young people represent about 25 per cent of Moldova’s residents and about 19 per cent of them are involved in agriculture. Such activities will contribute to informing young people about opportunities in the agricultural sector, to the keeping of young people in Moldova (preponderantly in rural settlements), creation of jobs and the social and economic development of rural settlements,” sources from the Association for Promotion of Entrepreneurship said.
APA will establish partnerships with the local public authorities and Regional Development Agencies (North, South, Centre, Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia), in order to ensure the involvement of all young people interested in activities of training and mentoring programmes.
