Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs of the ACUM political bloc today blocked the parliament’s central rostrum; thus Prime Minister Ion Chicu was not able to present his report on the government’s 100-day activity.
The ACUM bloc’s lawmakers blocked the parliament’s rostrum, thus protesting against the refusal to allow a simple motion against Foreign Affairs Minister Aureliu Ciocoi in legislative procedure. PM Ion Chicu, who came to parliament to unveil the report on the first 100 days of the cabinet’s work, could not reach the rostrum.
Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii announced a break and then summoned a meeting of the Standing Bureau.
Deputy Parliament Speaker Vlad Batrincea said that the participants in the meeting of the Standing Bureau had ruled to return to the session hall at 12:30. The lawmakers of the ACUM political bloc did not come at the concerned time and the parliament meeting was postponed.
The MPs of the ACUM bloc returned to the session hall at 13:00. Deputy Parliament Speaker Mihai Popsoi said the ACUM bloc was ready to consider the drafts suggested on the agenda, except for the prime minister’s report. The lawmakers ruled to postpone the parliament meeting by the votes of the majority of the MPs present in the session hall.
In these conditions, Prime Minister Ion Chicu ruled to present the government’s activity report in front of journalists who were in parliament.
