Moldovan agriculture ministry gives final touches to draft law clearly regulating insurance activity in farming sector

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today summoned a meeting to consider the enforcement of the mechanism of insurance in agriculture. Attending the event were Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Ion Perju, the director of the Agency of Interventions and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) and other decision-makers, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The participants in the meeting discussed the unsatisfactory progress achieved in the enforcement of the mechanism of insurance by farmers, considered the normative work in the field and the insufficient experience on this dimension.
Minister Perju informed the PM about the fact that the team of the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry was giving final touches to a draft law meant to clearly regulate the activity of insurance in agriculture. He suggested the use of the subsidization instrument managed by AIPA as simulating element.
Ion Chicu asked decision-makers to urgently finish the aforementioned draft and present a roadmap for its enforcement.
