Moldovan parliament speaker meets Deputy Regional Director of UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Europe and Central Asia

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today afternoon met Deputy Regional Director of United Nations Development Project’s (UNDP) Regional Bureau for Europe and Central Asia Agi Veres. Attending the meeting was UNDP Resident Representative in Moldova Dima Al-Khatib, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Zinaida Greceanii thanked UNDP for the support provided to carry out the e-Parliament programme, implemented with the support of the Swedish government, which aims at optimizing and transparentizing the legislative processes. The speaker stressed the parliament’s interest in the continuing of this partnership, which is to contribute to a greater openness of the parliament, including of its standing commissions.
For her part, the UNDP official appreciated the commitment and the leader position of the legislative body in the implementation of the e-Parliament system, which will contribute to the enhancing of the level of transparency and understanding by the citizens of the legislative process, giving possibility to follow the process of legislation at all stages of adoption and amendment of legislative acts.
At the same time, Agi Veres welcomed the initiative of women MPs, members of the joint platform of dialogue of the women lawmakers, to back and promote the commitments of the 2030 Agenda, through the carrying out of the parliament’s key duties.
