Foreign affairs ministry of Moldova provides updated information on situation of Moldovan citizens from ship accosted in Japan

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) today informed that, just as it had earlier announced, there were three Moldovan citizens, members of the crew, on the Diamond Princess cruise ship which accosted in Japan. Two of them have also Romanian citizenship.
The condition of the Moldovans is good and they have no symptoms of disease. The Moldovans continue observing the rules and recommendations of the people in charge of the quarantine regime. Following aleatory tests, on 20 February, the crew members repeatedly underwent tests and the results of the biological samples collected are to be announced in 2-3 days.
The entire process of quarantine and medical tests on the ship is carried out in strict accordance with the regulations of the World Health Organization and the Japanese legislation.
The authorities of Japan and the companies providing services on the cruise ship have not taken a final decision on the disembarking of all crew members; in this respect, following the getting of the analyses’ results and individual consultations, evacuation from the ship or extending the quarantine term are to be decided.
