Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with president of Armenia's National Assembly

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldova-Armenia relations have a big potential which is to be turned to good account for the benefit of the residents from the two countries. Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii has made statements to this effect at a meeting with President of the National Assembly (parliament) of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations general department, the officials emphasized the openness and interest in taking over the experience and good practices of successfully implemented reforms.
Zinaida Greceanii expressed respect for the way Armenia was preserving and turning to account its traditions, including through the active involvement of the Armenian Diaspora, as well as for the economic policies implemented by the Yerevan authorities. Greceanii expressed confidence that the official visit to Yerevan would boost the cooperation between the two countries. In the context, the parliament speaker conveyed to the group of parliamentary friendship with Moldova of the Armenian National Assembly an invitation to pay a visit to Chisinau.
For his part, Ararat Mirzoyan noted that the relations between the two nations were century-old and Armenia was interested in developing them in continuation in all spheres – political, humanitarian, commercial and economic, etc. Also, the president of the Armenian National Assembly expressed willingness to share Armenia’s experience as to the integration-related processes.
The meeting of the parliament speakers was followed by a meeting of the delegations in the enlarged format, in which the members of the Moldovan parliament’s delegation, the speaker and deputy speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly, as well as the heads of the parliamentary factions of the Armenian parliament participated.
Zinaida Greceanii wrote a message in the book of honorary guests of the National Assembly of Armenia. The two parliament speakers planted a tree in the Park of the National Assembly, according to the local tradition.
Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii pays an official visit to Armenia, leading a delegation of Moldova’s parliament, at an invitation by President of Armenian National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan. The Moldovan delegation is also made up of the head of the friendship group with Armenia, member of the foreign policy and European integration commission Gaik Vartanean, the head of the commission for social protection, health and family, Elena Bacalu, and a member of this commission Vladimir Mizdrenco, a member of the national commission for national security, defence and public order, Chiril Motpan, Secretary General of the parliament, Adrian Albu.
