Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - The enterprises working in the underground walkway at the intersection of the Stefan cel Mare blvd and the Izmail Street from the Chisinau municipality have been given notices of evacuation of the rooms.
According to information unveiled by the general mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, at a today’s meeting of the city hall’s services, on the last days, the bailiff was asked to notify the people working in the underground walkway from the intersection of the Stefan cel Mare blvd and the Izmail Street that the city hall had cancelled the contracts with them. “According to the information we have, there were 13 economic agents; yet, in reality, completely other people work there. The places are sub-leased. I do not know who has tolerated these sharp dealers so far. They own quite big portions, which they lease and money is not paid to the city hall. They are a kind of intermediaries who simply collect money actually from activities carried out by other people,” Ion Ceban said.
Data presented at the meeting shows that the current tenants of the commercial spaces from this underground walkway have debts worth 13 million lei to the Chisinau city hall.
Chisinau city hall’s decision-makers have earlier informed that the underground walkway from the intersection of the Stefan cel Mare blvd and the Izmail Street would be restored and the commercial spaces would be leased following a tender.
