Moldovan foreign minister attends high-level segment of UN Human Rights Council session

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/- Today Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi participates in an official two-day visit to Geneva, in the high-level segment of the 43rd session of the UN Human Rights Council, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.
The visit’s agenda will include bilateral meetings with counterparts from Lithuania, Albania, Qatar, Croatia, and assistant to Secretary-General for Human Rights Ilze Brands Kehris and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The Moldovan official will attend the high level segment of the 43rd session of the Human Rights Council.
The UN Human Rights Council is the main international intergovernmental body with a mandate to promote and protect human rights worldwide, meeting in Geneva in three ordinary sessions per year, with the ministerial segment taking place in February-March session.
