Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - A group of MPs have proposed a draft law for backing the Moldovan farmers. The draft suggests preserving the facilities at the payment of the social insurances contributions for the farmers who, besides the activities from the agricultural field, have a small percentage of activity in other sectors of the national economy.
The head of the parliament’s commission for agriculture, Radu Mudreac, who is one of the draft’s authors, explained the need of this draft law by the fact that “the farmers have facilities at the payment of the contributions to the social insurances fund; yet, if they have also another activity, which does not deal with the agricultural sector, these facilities are cancelled.”
The draft proposed by the group of Socialist lawmakers sees that, if 75 per cent of the entire spectrum of work of the farmer deals with the agricultural field and another 25 per cent represent non-agricultural activities, his/her facilities at the payment of social insurances contributions should be preserved.
