Moldovan diplomacy head meets United Nations Secretary General

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - A string of subjects, such as the regional security, Transnistrian conflict’s settlement, framework of cooperation between Moldova and the United Nations Organization (UNO), including the priorities on UNO’s agenda, have been considered at a meeting between Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and UN Secretary General Antόnio Guterres. The discussion took place on the sidelines of the Ministerial Segment of the 43rd Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
The foreign affairs minister welcomed the fact that the prolonged conflicts in the region of the Black Sea, including the Transnistrian one, remained in the focus of the UN Secretary General. Ciocoi stressed the importance of Moldova’s cooperation with the United Nations Organization for ensuring a sustainable development for the country and expressed support for the comprehensive process of the organization’s reformation under the smart leadership of Antόnio Guterres.
In the end of the meeting, Minister Ciocoi made an invitation to the UN Secretary General to visit Moldova.
