Moldovan parliament speaker, PM of Armenia discuss opportunities of extending inter-state cooperation

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today had a meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, on the sidelines of her official visit to this country. The officials discussed in detail possibilities of extending the Moldovan-Armenian cooperation, especially in the commercial and economic sectors, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.      

Nikol Pashinyan welcomed the presence of the Moldovan delegation in Yerevan, noting that such meetings contribute to the extension of the cooperation and friendship ties between the countries. In the context, the PM of Armenia expressed confidence that his visit to Moldova, planned for this year, would contribute to the dynamic development of the Moldovan-Armenian relations. In this respect, the heads of the Moldovan-Armenian joint governmental commission for economic development pursue to establish the priorities of the bilateral agenda in the concerned sector.   

The Armenian prime minister said that the big distance between the two countries should not be a hindrance for the bilateral partnership and that it was necessary to identify creative solutions to overcome this problem.    

Also, the PM of Armenia pointed out that the Armenian Diaspora from Moldova, big and active, was a good factor and an additional premise for extending the cooperation.  

For her part, Zinaida Greceanii stressed Moldova’s interest in the deepening of the relations between businesspeople from the two countries, noting that the Moldovan authorities were making efforts to consolidate and improve the business and investment environments. The speaker highlighted the existence of a friendly fiscal framework, possibilities of export to the EU area and efforts to improve the justice system.

Greceanii also underlined Moldova’s interest in the creation of joint platforms for production and export in the agro-industrial sector.  

Also, the sides spoke out for the mutual promotion of tourism.  

Zinaida Greceanii thanked for the great openness of the Armenian authorities in Moldova and willingness to share their experiences.  

Attending the meeting were Kiev-based Moldova’s Ambassador to Armenia Ruslan Bolbocean and Ambassador of Armenia to Moldova Jivan Movsisyan.    

Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii pays an official visit to Armenia, at an invitation by President of the National Assembly (parliament) of this country Ararat Mirzoyan.  

The Moldovan delegation is also made up of the head of the friendship group with Armenia, member of the foreign policy and European integration commission Gaik Vartanean, the head of the commission for social protection, health and family, Elena Bacalu, and a member of this commission Vladimir Mizdrenco, a member of the national commission for national security, defence and public order, Chiril Motpan, Secretary General of the parliament, Adrian Albu.
