Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - Negotiations on the draft agreement on social security between Moldova and Russia started in Moscow today.
The draft stipulates providing of age limit pensions, pensions of disability triggered by general diseases, in the wake of labour accidents or caused by professional diseases, survivor pensions and death help.
The official delegation of negotiators from Moldova is led by a state secretary at the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), Nelea Rusu, and is made up of representatives of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, National Social Insurances House and the National Council for Establishing the Disability and Capacity for Work, sources from MSMPS have said.
The talks were opened by Russian Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Aleksey Cherkasov. He stressed the importance of the negotiation of a new agreement for enhancing the social protection of the citizens from both countries, ensuring them the right to pension from these states, based on the contributions paid.
For her part, Nelea Rusu said that the goal of the negotiations was giving the final touches to the agreement, meant to establish a new framework of social guarantees for the migrant workers from Moldova, who carry out or carried out a labour activity in Russia.
The accord negotiated is based on the principle of proportionality and export of social payments, on the basis of which the rights of pension will be set by each state proportionally to the length of pensionable service carried out on its territory. The new document will replace the current agreement between the governments of Moldova and Russia on guarantees of the rights of citizens in the field of supply with pensions, signed in 1995.
So far, Moldova has signed social security agreements, based on the principle of proportionality and export of social payments, with 14 states.
