ANRE approved plan for separating operator of gas transmission system

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/- The Board of Directors of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) approved detailed action plan on separation of the operator of the gas transmission system Moldovatransgaz.

The plan approved by ANRE includes the implementation of the separation process in 12 stages, during which 23 basic actions and 61 additional actions will be carried out, due to be completed by October 1, 2020.

The main measures comprise the organization of gas supply and transport companies; forming the independent contractual basis for supply and transportation of gas; ensuring the independence of staff and management Moldovatransgaz; offering financial resources necessary for gas transportation, etc.

Following the implementation of the plan, Moldovatransgaz must meet the requirements on the separation and independence of the transmission system operator, according to a European directive of July 2009 on common rules for the internal market in gas sector.
