Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - The entire society is aware of the fact that the justice sector is the most corrupt sector; yet, it would be a big error to say that all people are corrupt in this sector. Prime Minister Ion Chicu made statements to this effect in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting.
According to Chicu, most judges, especially the young ones, are honest people, who want to work for the country and want to clean the system of corrupt elements. “We have signals on behalf of the concerned judges that they support and urge us to continue this work,” Chicu noted.
The PM reiterated that the government relied a lot on the backing of these judges in the process of reformation of the judicial system. He gave instructions to the Justice Ministry to cooperate with the National Justice Institute, in order to promote more young people among judges.
”We must bring more young people to the sector, who will change the state of things in the sector and the society’s perception about justice,” the prime minister also said.
Also in the beginning of the cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta informed that he had signed an order on the blocking of allocations worth 70 million lei for the financing of the judicial system, provided for in the state budget law. This sum will be paid in the file of Gemeni (Twins), after Moldova has been obliged by the European Court of Human Rights to return the sum to the injured people.
