Moldovan PM chairs cabinet meeting

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a cabinet meeting, with 27 subjects on its agenda, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the beginning of the meeting, Ion Chicu referred to the work of the crisis cell set up for the management of the epidemiological situation and thanked decision-makers for involvement and dedication. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu informed about the activities undertaken to prevent the appearance and spread of the coronavirus epidemic.
The PM asked Interior Minister Pavel Voicu to undertake measures of sanctioning the drivers who move with shadowed vehicles more than the national normative framework stipulates.
Deputy Prime Minister Serghei Puscuta informed about the actions carried out to identify, in the budget of the judicial system, the sum of compensations set by the European Court of Human Rights for Moldova, in the file of the Gemenii (The Twins) trade centre. Ion Chicu asked not to hit the salaries of the employees from the system.
Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta unveiled a draft which provides for the earmarking of 381.6 thousand lei for one-off allowances for more participants in the actions for the defence of Moldova’s independence and the ones of Chernobyl accident relief works.
Economics and Infrastructure Minister Anatol Usatii proposed for approval a draft which sees the establishment of the moratorium on the enforcement of the programme on getting Moldova’s citizenship through investment till 1 January 2021. The moratorium is necessary, in order to make a detailed analysis of the mechanisms of verification of the applicants and eliminate possible threats.
Health Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu presented a draft on the completion of the regulation on the formation of selling prices for the imported social products, meant to regulate the cost for medical masks, gloves and medical disinfectants. The draft is aimed at impeding the speculative behavior of economic operators, showed not only in Moldova, but also in several EU member states.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu asked the institutions in charge of market supervision to make controls and establish the observance of the limiting of the trade markup in case of the aforementioned products.
Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi unveiled to the cabinet of ministers a draft regulation which establishes the way of assessing and record of presents provided to civil servants. The regulation sets the way of presents’ redeeming.
