Ninety four observers to monitor new parliamentary polls in central Moldova settlement

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today accredited the last observers for the monitoring of the new parliamentary polls, due in the uninominal electoral district No 38, Hancesti municipality, on 15 March.
Thus, 82 national observers on behalf of seven organizations will monitor the next Sunday ballot. Also, CEC accredited 12 international observers on behalf of four diplomatic missions resident in Moldova and two electoral associations.
The accredited observers have right to attend all electoral operations, all meetings of the electoral bodies, including on the election day, without intervening in the electoral process or in other electoral operations and inform the head of the electoral body about the irregularities noticed.
New parliamentary elections will take place in the uninominal electoral district No 38, Hancesti municipality, on 15 March. The polls will be held after Alexandru Botnari (Democratic Party) has given up his MP mandate, in order to return to the office of Hancesti city mayor. Seven electoral contenders participate in the ballot – 6 parties and one independent candidate.
