IMF decision to earmark 20 million dollars to Moldova welcomed in parliament

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/- The decision of the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on conclusion of the three-year program with the Republic of Moldova was welcomed today in parliament.

Speaker Zinaida Greceanîi congratulated citizens and MPs on successful completion of the Program with the IMF, the decision was announced yesterday by the IMF Executive Board. The speaker thanked the lawmakers for full contribution to the elaboration of the draft laws whose adoption was required by program with the IMF.

The head of the committee on economy, budget and finance, Vladimir Golovatiuc, said that IMF highly appreciated the respect and fulfillment by Moldova of the three-year Program with the Fund, and showed support for Moldova, especially Parliament and Government in implementing the reforms.

On 11 March, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund concluded the final revision of economic results achieved by Moldova in the context of the implementation of the program supported by the Extended Credit Facility and Extended Fund Facility. This enables the disbursement of the last installment of 20 million dollars.
