Twenty nine cases of COVID-19 registered in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - There are 29 COVID-19 cases in Moldova. Another six cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Moldova today. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect after a meeting of the single command centre for the management of the crisis triggered by coronavirus.
According to the quoted source, two out of the six new patients have recently returned from the United Kingdom and four cases are of local transmission.
At the same time, the minister noted that the first patient treated had been recorded today. This patient will be discharged from hospital, after the last two tests collected showed that he no longer has COVID-19.
The official urged the citizens to stay at home and observe the authorities’ recommendations.
Today, President Igor Dodon asked the parliament to decree the state of emergency, after the authorities on 15 March had ruled to cease the air traffic and limit traders’ work.
The World Health Organization informed that the Covid-19 epidemic can be declared pandemic and the Moldovan authorities established red code of alert nationally as to the epidemiological situation through the infection with the new coronavirus.
