One employee in medical system died from COVID-19

Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/- A 79-year-old employee from the pre-hospital emergency care system died of COVID-19. This is the second death registered in the Republic of Moldova, and the number of infected persons reached 177. Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu made the statement today.
The official noted that so far, 1,928 tests have been applied in the ANSP Laboratory, and 177 proved to be positive. Of them, 52 are of import, and 125 with local transmission. In the last period, an increase of local transmission is recorded, for this reason the minister reiterated the urge for the population to stay at home, and the elderly do not leave the house without strict necessity.
The official reported that 25 of the patients infected with COVID-19 and admitted to the hospital Toma Ciorbă are in serious condition, other eight persons in serious condition are being treated at the Republican Hospital. The rest of the patients have a medium or satisfactory health condition.
On 17 March - 15 May state of emergency is declared throughout Moldova. During this period, the National Commission for Emergencies issued several restrictive measures for citizens and involved police and servicemen to monitor their compliance. The citizens and economic agents, who do not obey the decisions of the commission, will be sanctioned.
