Works of arranging first pavilion of Chisinau-based COVID-19 Centre completed

Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall informs that the works of arranging the first pavilion of the Public Medical and Sanitary Institution COVID-19 Centre have been completed. The centre will fulfill the duty of sorting patients suspected of infection with coronavirus.
According to a note placed on the social networks of the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, the first pavilion of the sorting centre placed at Moldexpo was set today. Ceban said that 75 separate beds, placed in improvised wards, had been prepared at the Centre. ‘’The centre was arranged in three days by specialists in the medical sector, along with servicemen, and medical equipment was brought. The Red Cross donated 500 sets of bedclothes and disinfectants,’’ Ceban wrote.
The Chisinau mayor informed that work was already carried out to prepare the second pavilion, due to have a capacity of 300 beds.
Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations on 31 March announced the creation of the Chisinau-based Public Medical and Sanitary Institution COVID-19 Centre. Oleg Crudu was nominated as director of this centre; he was temporarily suspended from the office of head of the Sfanta Treime (Holy Trinity) Municipal Clinical Hospital from Moldova’s capital.
The founder of this institution is the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry. According to the Commission’s instruction, the duration of work of the Public Medical and Sanitary Institution COVID-19 Centre is limited by the period of the state of emergency.
