Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - The crisis triggered by COVID-19 might lead to the worsening of the criminal situation in Moldova. To prevent this scenario, the authorities worked out an action plan. President Igor Dodon today made statements to this effect, noting that the subject had been discussed at a meeting of the Supreme Security Council (CSS).
“We enter the risk period. Our priority will be the ensuring of the security of the citizens and their assets. The Interior Ministry and the law-enforcement bodies will work 24 hours, in order to prevent the worsening of the situation. People stay at home, the domestic violence is enhancing; some people remained without jobs. We understand the risks. According to the General Police Inspectorate, 6,007 offences were committed in Moldova in the first three months of 2020, which is by 2.15 per cent less against the same period of the year before.
