Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - We have learned with deep sorrow about the passing away of the second prime minister of Moldova, Honourable Valeriu Muravschi.
In these difficult moments, we convey condolences to the mourning family, as well as to the entire society. Today, we lost a responsible leader and a true statesman.
Both the mandate of prime minister and the mandate of deputy prime minister and finance minister of Valeriu Muravschi represented a complication period of the state’s foundation.
Prime minister Muravschi led Moldova’s government on the period of the Transnistria War – a time when the public institutions of the young state were just being created. These were the years after the end of the Cold War, full of uncertainty and challenges, when the map of the world was re-designed.
By his courageous vision and political commitment, Valeriu Muravschi decisively contributed to the first steps of Moldova to be safe. During his entire life, Valeriu Muravschi pursued the goal to be useful for the country, leaving a rich political and managerial heritage.
Presently, we can ascertain that, due to his tireless efforts, Moldova is a recognized sovereign state.
