Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - The international passenger and freight traffic will be resumed through the border checkpoints Ocnita-Sokireni and Larga-Kelmentsy as of 10 April at 8:00. Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations took a decision to this effect today.
„These land crossing points are opened as a result of the ceasing of the traffic from the Ukrainian side through the crossing point Mamaliga-Criva. Thus, we open two alternative crossing points, in order to ensure the easing of the traffic,’’ Prime Minister, head of the Commission Ion Chicu said at the end of the commission’s meeting.
State of emergency is declared in Moldova on the period 17- March – 15 May 2020, given the COVID-19 pandemic. On this period, the instructions by the National Commission for Emergency Situations are compulsory and executory for the authorities of any level and the business environment or, in order to prevent and combat the spread of the coronavirus, the Commission had to take more restrictive decisions which hit the citizens and the business.
