Patients with easy forms of COVID-19 to be treated at home in Moldova as of 10 April

Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/ - The patients with easy forms of COVID-19 who do not have secondary diseases will be treated at home starting from 10 April. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu and the head of the First Medical Aid Department, Tatiana Zatic, made statements to this effect today.    

According to the chief of the aforementioned department, all family physicians from Moldova have been already trained and received the treatment schemes. ‘’Beginning with 10 April, the patients with easy forms of COVID-19 and who do not suffer from secondary diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases or oncological ones, will be treated at home,’’ Zatic said.    

She specified that the treatment at home would be monitored by the family physician by phone on all the period of supervision. ‘’A monitoring card will be elaborated for the patient, in which record will be kept during 14 days,’’ Tatiana Zatic noted.   

The health minister said the people older than 60 with symptoms would be further hospitalized. Also, the persons with other diseases, children and pregnant women will put in hospital too.  

The official informed that the sorting centre would be activated at Moldexpo on 10 April as well.

Statistics data shows that 1,174 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in Moldova so far. Fifty persons of them have recovered and 28 died. As many as 317 infected people are medical employees.
