Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, has informed on social networks that the COVID-19 centre was opened today and the first ambulance brought patients.

The patients coming to the sorting centre will undergo testing and after receiving the result, depending on their health condition, they will be transferred to strategic hospitals.

“Patients coming to the sorting centre have all needed conditions to be examined. Those whose tests are positive, with easy forms of disease, will be treated at home, under supervision of family physicians,’’ the mayor noted.

As many as 130 physicians will work at the COVID-19 sorting centre, who will be able to consult 300 patients per day.

According to the Chisinau city hall’s press service, the sorting centre has arranged 400 places at present, in three pavilions opened. If needed, the number of places can be increased.

The COVID-19 sorting centre is meant to take over the pressure on the health system and to make a sorting of persons suspected of coronavirus.
