Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved the starting of negotiations and signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Moldovan Economics and Infrastructure Ministry and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation on the first phase of the project, Moldova: Creating Jobs Opportunities through Improved Market Systems.

The project’s general goal is to optimize the market systems in the sectors and settlements selected during the stage of the project’s preparation. This will contribute to the increase in the quantity and quality of jobs and will provide additional incomes for employed people, with excluded groups benefitting significantly (young people from rural zones, returned emigrants, ethnic minorities, etc.).

According to the sides involved in the process of project’s implementation, the general purpose of the project is to be achieved through fulfilling the following objectives: creation of jobs and increase in residents’ incomes, due to the enhancement of enterprises’ competitiveness through better access to assistance services, in a friendly business environment; change of narratives on migration’s perception in a way in which more people will remain or would like to remain and get employed or become free-lance workers in Moldova.

The project is structured in two stages: the first one is of preparation, which consists in the analysis and determining of the sectors with potential of intervention and starting pilot interventions. The second stage implies direct interventions to achieve the goals set.
