As many as 149 new COVID-19 cases registered in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 568 biological samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours, of which 149 proved to be positive. Thus, there are 1,438 confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus in all. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect after a today’s meeting of the Single Command Centre for the management of the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 virus.
According to the official, one of the 149 cases is of import and the rest are with local transmission. ‘’Fifty seven out of all cases were confirmed in Chisinau, 23 in Soroca, 17 in the Transnistrian region, 8 in Falesti, 6 in Orhei, 5 in Glodeni, two cases in Hancesti, 4 in Ialoveni, 3 in Straseni, two cases in Cahul, Calarasi, Criuleni each and one case in Anenii Noi, Briceni, Cantemir, Causeni, Comrat, Floresti, Rezina, Sangerei, Soldanesti and Ungheni each,’’ Dumbraveanu noted.
The health minister specified that the COVID-19 sorting centre from Moldexpo had started working today and 13 people were hospitalized there. She also said that Moldova was presently in a hot period and urged the people to observe physicians’ recommendations.
Statistics data shows that 29 people have died of coronavirus 56 have been treated so far.
State of emergency is declared all over Moldova on the period 17 March – 15 May 2020, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
