Moldovan president has working meeting with Russian ambassador

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had a working meeting with Russian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials exchanged opinions on the present state of the bilateral relations, as well as the pandemic situation in both states. The diplomat informed the head of state that he was keeping a close eye and was appreciating the way the Moldovan authorities are managing the crisis triggered by the new virus. The ambassador actions gave assurances that Russia supported these actions.
In the context, Igor Dodon conveyed since thanks to the Russian partners, especially President Vladimir Putin, for the assistance provided to Moldova in such difficult moments. In particular, the Moldovan president referred to a free of charge plane offered to Moldova for the carriage of protection equipment from China to Chisinau, which is so necessary for Moldova’s residents, as well as to the 200-million-euros-worth loan provided by Russia to Moldova.
In another context, the sides discussed the actions undertaken on the occasion of marking the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, such as: visiting veterans at their homes, restoration of monuments, arrangement of military cemeteries, etc. The officials were unanimous in the opinion that the events which would involve a large number of people are to be postponed for a later period, when the effects of the pandemic will be diminished and there will be no risk of infection for the population.
